Rotten Apple 907 in Burbank CA celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021 with the theme ‘Evil in the London Fog.’ They welcomed over 4,000 guests for a 6-night run that raised over $6,000 to Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter. The home haunt is a local legend known for its attention to detail and outstanding sets. I visited during Haunter’s Night, which happened in November after the haunt had officially closed to the public. I grabbed Diane Meyer to ask her how it felt to be back with a full walkthrough after having only a display for 2020.

Diane has been designing and running Rotten Apple 907 Haunt for 30 years. The haunt has developed into an iconic Burbank event that draws people from all over Southern California. Diane’s love for decorative painting started when her daughter was young which turned into a career with teaching all over the states and publishing over 13 books. Her love for both Halloween and decorative painting collided to help make Rotten Apple 907 Haunt one of the highly rated haunts for quality of set design and props.
